Oceano Population: 7,000 The Oceano Sand Dunes, which covers about 1,500 acres, is known as the most extensive coastal dunes remaining in California. In most of Southern California, driving on the beaches is not allowed, but on the Central Coast it is a sport. You can enjoy the dunes by horseback or in your 4-wheel drive vehicle, camper or trailer.
